Restoration and further sustainable use of Neringa Fort

Neringa fort is the only survived example of XIX c. Prussian fortifications in Lithuania. It is a unique maritime cultural heritage building. Since 1979 after the restoration and reconstruction of the fort, the Lithuanian Sea Museum has been established there. Over 3 decades during which the museum and the fort served the public needs the buildings and the constructions of the fort strongly depreciated.
Supported by the EEA Grants for cultural heritage programme, the Lithuanian Sea Museum is going to implement the project which aims at completing the restoration works of the Neringa fort, while preserving this unique maritime cultural heritage object and ensuring greater public awareness and involvement in its recognition and preservation process.
